Weapon

After discussing what weapon we could use within our movie and looking back on the comments everyone left on the questionnaire 'what weapon could we use?' we decided to do further research by watching films that use the various weapons and to see what impact they had on us due to the fact we are the audience.

Firstly, we looked at the knife and after recieving positive feedback on this weapon we looked into it being used in famous movies. We looked at the movies Scream 1 - 4 and what impact the knife had when it was being used by the killer. A knife could easily be hidden depending on the size - we wanted to use a smaller knife around the size of a remote control - and this is similar to the the knife used in Scream. A knife would have a more painful effect and it would make the audience almost feel like they can feel what the victim in the movie can film. During the movie, it was the killer who used a knife and this is what the killer was famous for when killing his/her victims.
- The fact that the killer is also wearing a mask shows that he doesnt want his identity to be revealed until the end which happens in all 4 movies. The killer wants to make his attacks quick but also painful so would therefore benefit from having a knife that would have some serious damage to the victim. This also ties in on what the killer intends to do, in the movies, the killers are always after revenge so the knife would indicate how much pain they want to inflict to the victims. For example, in Scream 2, the killer is Debbie Loomis seeking revenge on Sydney for killing her son in the first movie as he was the killer. She uses a knife but at the end a gun although all the previous killings where all with a knife.

So after looking at this weapon we decided that althoug our killer is after revenge we don't want our killer to use a knife as a weapon as we want there to be a more depth into why he is killing these girls. Also the fact that our end shot is a POV from the killers eyes we didn't want to end the scene by him raising the knife as we would then have to prolong our story by showing him kill her which we didn't want to do.

Secondaly, we looked at the gun as a potential weapon and begun to do the same redearch pattern and looking at  movies with the gun as the weapon. We found that the gun was usually used to put a brutal end to someone and to give a more gruesome and gory effect which would then make the audience cringe. We also saw that guns where used in films where the killer(s) where abnormal, for example, zombies etc. and the victims would have to use the gun - which would normally have a risen to being there in the first place - and use it on impact to survive. We looked at Scream and Scream 2 again and also Wrong Turn.
In Scream 2 it was the killer who used the gun which could tie in with my previous point of inflicting pain on the victim depending on why you was killing them in the first place, in this killers case, revenge was why and holding the gun gave her that power and authority but also allowed her the controll on who dies and they cant run.

In Scream it was the victim - Sydney - who was able to have access to a gun - which was left on the floor by a police officer after he was hurt - and killed the murderer which she also did to the woman in the picture above as it as a quick response for her and her friends survivan but she also made sure the killers where actually dead. This also ties in with the victims from the movie Wrong Turn.

In the movie Wrong Turn, the victims are at a fight with their killers which are abnormal creature that live in the hills and kill humans for their own survival. So they would need a very powerful weapon in order to survive especially when there are so many of the creatures and they are probably more strong and know the area well which they have set up with traps to make their prey more easy.

The creatures where all inbred and had traps set up all over the forest giving the victims a disadvantage on survivng so the remaining victims would need to ensure they have a weapon that could work quickly and could kill from the first or possibly second hit.

So after giving it some thought and looking over our research and thinking what weapon would fit our story more, we decided not to go with any of the weapons from the questionnaire. We came up with a last minute idea that we believed worked even better with our killer and his victims, due to the fact he is after revenge, we wanted to inflict pain that the killer could connect with and in a way be satisfied with. We came up with the killer using his bare hands to kill the girls who used to make his life a living hell when they were all younger. We will have the killer using his hands to strangle the girl, also the fact that the last shot is a POV shot from him, we would shown the flash back of what they used to do to him which would anger him even more. Just as his hands raise to strangle her, and she reacts the film will cut to the main title of the movie with an over sound of the scream.

We got our revenge idea from a film called Amusement and a little research on Scream was very helpful as they are all on revenge. We wanted to be different with the weapon being bare hands as in the films we watched as our research they always used weapons such as knives, torture items etc.

Scream - Billy Loomis, seeking revenge for his father having an affair with Sydney's mother leading to his own mother leaving him from a young age.

Scream 2 - Debbie Loomis, seeking reveng on Sydney after she murdered her son Billy Loomis in the first Scream movie.

Scream 3 - Roman Bridger, seeking revenge on Sydney as he was her long lost brother and their mother shut him out and claimed she only had one child - Sydney.

Scream 4 - Jill Roberts, wanting to be the start. Being Sydney's cousin she never got the attention and fame so grew jelouse.

We Gladly Present

We would like to present our Production Name...

Hope you like our design and we look forward to producing our final piece!!!

We Have Decided On A Title!

Hi everyone, we want to thank you for your feedback when we was asking about the title of our movie. After having a discussion and thinking about what title would most suit our production we made a decision on...

I STILL REMEMBER

We think that this would most suit the plot as well as our killer is after revenge on his victims and when we see a flash back we see that after all the years he still remembers what the girls did to him.

We looked into some movies that also have a revenge plot and found it really useful as it gave us more ideas and how to make our production clear and enjoyable to watch!

Audience Research

As you know, our production is going to be a horror. It is going to be very complex and will contain a mystery that has to be solved so for that reason we have decided that our main target audience is both females and males between the age group of 15-21. We think our film would be watched by groups of friends that are just hanging out and having or even a boyfriend and girlfriend at the cinema. In other words this is the perfect chance for girls to be really scared and cuddle up close!

We thought hard about what certificate our film should be as we didn't think it was too horrific to be an 18 and it was a little too complex and contained some form of horror to be a 12 so we both decided to give it a certificate of a 15.

We also wanted to make sure that we made our audience realise what the plot and storyline would be and wanted to make sure we really scare our audience and make them feel uneasy watching our film.
